Missile Orbiters are designed to circle around the opponent and use he missiles to damage the vulnerable sides and backs.

General setup:

  • Three layers: Armor, shields combined with thrust and the HE launchers at the back
  • Missile modules are standardized.

Optional design choices

  • The number of reactors can vary. 2 reactor is very well sustained but often struggles to fully utilize their full potential. The 1 reactor variants can fit more stuff, but have trouble sustaining their systems.
  • EMP can help against heavy shield defenses.
  • Mines help against faster enemies coming from behind
  • Tractor beams can help utilize 2 reactors to the fullest and help against flanking attacks. They are also just generally a good utility tool to have.
  • Especially 1 LR variants have a lot of space for backwards thrust which can be used to turn more quickly or to safe energy.

Piloting

  • You of course want to orbit opponents when possible.
  • Sometimes ramming can be advantageous, as the missiles will have an easy time hitting the vulnerable backside of the enemy.
