Projects a large defensive energy shield in an arc outside the ship, blocking most incoming fire. Vulnerable to Disruptors and EMPs.

Due to its large size, the energy shield cannot be projected through non-structure ship mass, requiring the Large Shield Generator to be built on the ship's vulnerable exterior.

The Large Shield Generator is a larger and more powerful version of the Small Shield Generator, featuring a larger arc, three times the shield strength, and a higher power capacity. The added strength allows it to resist Disruptor bolts if sufficiently charged.

Unlike its small counterpart, the Large Shield Generator must be exposed to the outer hull, and cannot be encased in armor. Any blocks that cover the exposed part of the shield will decrease the shield arc size.

Shields lose all power right before performing a hyperspace jump.
