Description

Display
Language
The language used for the user interface
Window Mode
The style of game window.
- Borderless Full Screen is a borderless window resized to your screen resolution
- Exclusive Full Screen puts the game in dedicated full screen mode at your screen resolution
- Resizable Window puts the game in a freeform window on your desktop that can be freely moved and resized
VSync
Selects the level of vertical synchronization (VSync).
- Off: The game will run at as high a framerate as possible
- On: Synchronizes the game with your monitor's refresh rate, eliminating screen tearing at the cost of increased input lag
- On (Triple-Buffered): A variant of V-Sync that may increase framerate but with additional input lag
U.I. Scaling
Selects the size of the user interface. Can be increased above 100% to make the interface easier to see at higher screen resolutions, or for accessibility
Trap Mouse Cursor
If enabled, the mouse cursor will not be able to leave the game window during play. It has no effect when using Exclusive Full Screen
Performance
Minimum Target F.P.S
The target minimum frames-per-second count the game will try to maintain. If the framerate falls below this number, the game will automatically slow down to try and reach it again
Resolution Scale
The scale at which the game graphics are rendered. Above 100%, the game is super-sampled, which improves anti-aliasing quality at the cost of performance. Values below 100% will increase performance at the cost of visual fidelity
Planet Resolution
Controls the resolution of planet textures. Higher values makes planets look better at the cost of longer load times and higher VRAM usage
Animate Backgrounds
If enabled, game backgrounds are animated rather than static. This looks better, but comes with a performance cost. As such, turning it off can significantly improve performance
Fancy Lighting Effects
Toggles additional lighting effects. These make the game look better, but at the cost of performance
Fancy Particles & VFX
Toggles additional particle and visual effects. These make the game look better, but at the cost of performance
Use Uncompressed Textures
Toggles whether game textures are compressed. Uncompressed textures result in a slight increase in visual quality at the cost of greatly increased RAM/VRAM usage
Limit Framerate
If enabled, the game will not run at a higher framerate than the specified value
Preferences
Screen Shake
Toggles whether in-game events — such as explosions — can cause the screen to shake
U.I. Animations
Toggles whether the user interface animates and responds to user input
Background Grid
Controls the style of background grid, which can be helpful with judging speed and distance. Available options are Crosses, Lines, or turned Off.
Post Shader
Controls the post-processing filter that the game uses. These are mostly for fun, and give the game an entirely different look and feel
