Goshawk is a resilient ship, using a wall of small shields and spaced armor plates to protect it from most attacks. The ship's "wings" make it somewhat resistant against HE missiles, and the lack of reverse thrust turns it into an improvised rammer in some situations. Its exceptional frontal defense and deck cannons make it a dangerous opponent, specially when your ships rely on shields, given it has several disruptors hidden in barrels and shields.
If you cannot pierce through its defenses and damage the barrels until collapsing the shields to allow aiming at the deck cannons, missiles on the lateral openings can cut all of its firepower in a few shots. An EMP barrage is also effective at making it vulnerable. Flanking is extremely deadly, as all of its armor is on the front or wings. The "body" of Goshawk is very weak and can chain react into a complete wreck, so target it using whatever means you have.
