This guide explains the mechanics of penetration, with a focus on the common penetration mechanics.
Projectiles
Projectiles are one of the main components of penetration damage, as within its definition lies its behavior before, during, and after penetrating hitboxes of the various types, which will be discussed later.
Types
There are two kinds of projectiles, the Shot, and the Beam, of which only the Shot penetrates, so only this will be covered in this guide. With that being said, there are two types of Shots:
- SimpleHit:
The SimpleHit is a projectile that does not penetrate. Examples: Heavy Laser Blaster Shot, High-Explosive Missile.
- PenetratingHit:
The PenetratingHit is a projectile that penetrates, of which its behaviors are defined in the shot definition. Examples: Deck Cannon Shot, Railgun Shot
