Blueprints

Blueprints are technology purchased from Stations in Career Mode to unlock Ship Parts for construction. They are not a physical item akin to a resource, but instead grant the ability to construct the corresponding part. Currently, every station sells the same blueprints, accessible by hailing the station and selecting the blueprints tab. Each blueprint has an Unlock Cost in Credits, and some have a Required blueprint that must be purchased first. The cost of any Starter Ship (whether included with the game or imported as a custom ship) includes the cost of any required blueprints -- in addition to the individual part cost -- which functions as a soft cap on what parts can be included on starter ships.

Notes

  1. 1.0 1.1 1.2 1.3 There is a known bug where ships designed in Creative that use Launchers require all four launcher blueprints to be unlocked if used as a starter ship. This effectively makes Launchers unable to be used as a starter ship, because the total cost of just the blueprints would be 45,000 credits.
