Axlerod is a tier 3 scout ship used by the Fringe Systems Resistance.
The Axlerod is one of the most dangerous ships in the early game due to its ability to orbit the player. Its armament of 4 Small Cannons can be dangerous, especially as its orbiting attack behavior allows it to fire directly into the unprotected side of its opponent. Point defense and shields will help improve your survivability greatly, especially when placed to protect your sides as well as your front. Disruptors are recommended as its constant movement and shield combined will make it difficult to land a hit. If you can't command your ship to face it properly, it may be wise to manually control your ship and attempt to face it head-on.
The AI is incapable of properly catching up to its orbiting motion, and thus luring Fringe Systems Resistance Axlerods near pirate ships can be an easy way to take them out.
