Phalanx III Heavy Escort is a tier 8 corvette used by the Fringe Systems Resistance.
This ship retains many features from its predecessors and can be approached in a similar way, but does notably now have shields and two disruptors. Because of this, you'll need disruptors of your own to destroy it. Just like its immediate predecessor, this ship's point defense will cause problems for HE missile ships. A single central flak battery is another new addition, but changes nothing about how you should approach this ship - strafe to one side to cut off half of its lasers, and target either its disruptors (if you're relying on shields) or its cannons and flak (if you're relying on armor). Strafing also allows you to get a better angle to shoot at its reactor and cockpits while bypassing some of its defenses. If you're not strafing, target its ballistic weapons, as its disruptors will be too hard to hit without strafing. There is a thin line of armor directly in front of this ship's reactor - to circumvent it, target either one of its cockpits instead, which will allow you to still disable or destroy the Heavy Escort while ignoring the armor pole.
