Raptor is a tier 10 frigate used by the Fringe Systems Resistance.

Tactics

A decently well-made ship, the Raptor isn't especially dangerous nor weak. While at first glance this ship may appear fragile, it's surprisingly durable, with armor spread out through its frame. It has small shields protecting its various weapons, and a single frontal large shield, which should be your first target. All of its shields are pretty far from its reactor, which allows you to win even without disruptors, but it'll be tough, and disruptors will help greatly. Raptor's large shield has two smaller ones protecting it, so you'll need some strong burst damage to get through that first layer of defense. If you're relying heavily on shields yourself, you should prioritize Raptor's disruptors, which are also out of the range of its large shield, so you can take them out before anything else if necessary. Otherwise, after destroying Raptor's large shield, you have a prime opportunity to destroy the undefended cannons next to the new large-shield-shaped hole in Raptor's front. Stray fire while attacking the large shield may have hit the cannons, making them even easier to destroy. You can also ignore Raptor's weapons entirely and rush directly for its reactor - this is best when using accurate weapons like ions.

Raptor is decently fast, but it has no real counter to a kiter faster than itself, so a well-built kiter will have no problems with this ship. It can turn fairly quickly, but consistent strafing can still weaken Raptor's offense by getting it to either block its own weapons or to at least make them unable to focus on one part of your ship properly. Flanking will also naturally be effective and allow you to snipe its control room, but the best strategy of all is to ram. This lets you circumvent Raptor's large shield, prevent its weapons from concentrating their fire on one spot, and also can disable around half of Raptor's offense by ramming it on the side.
