Kingslayer is a tier 17 battlecruiser used by the Fringe Systems Resistance.

Tactics

A dangerous late-game opponent that should be approached with caution. As it uses a mix of one-sided HE missiles and chainguns, you'll need a very strong, well-rounded defense. Point defense or flak will be very helpful - if it's front-facing, you can set the missile defense on the left side of your main ship to fire at Kingslayer, as all its missiles will strike on your right. You'll also need strong armor, with or without shields, in order to endure the missiles that make it through your defenses as well as the chaingun barrage. Kingslayer's deceptively fast, too, and very well armored. Due to the ship's reliance on armor, ions or chainguns will prove effective. Nukes will be devastating, but are costly - that said, if you have any available, whether from purchases, mining, or salvaging nuke-wielding enemies, this is a ship that is definitely worth using them on.

Kingslayer's barrel is rather wide and only protected by four large shields, a fairly weak defense at this point in the game. It is recommended, especially if your frontal defenses are poor, to fire down Kingslayer's barrel and destroy its chainguns as quickly as possible, ideally before they can finish ramping up. Attempting to get on Kingslayer's side to target the reactor supplying Kingslayer's shields is also recommended - while it has fairly thick armor on its right, that armor is nowhere near as thick as its frontal armor. Destroying the reactor will severely reduce Kingslayer's mobility by taking out its innermost engines, destroys a few of its HE missile launchers, and puts you in a great position to press the assault by firing through the newly created hole at the rest of Kingslayer's missiles and internals. Ramming Kingslayer is not a good idea most of the time, due to its missiles, but it may be worth doing now, where its missiles are already hitting you in the back and sides and Kingslayer is heavily damaged. Ramming Kingslayer at this point will deprive it of the mobility needed to turn around and protect its now exposed sides.

Flankers will be very effective against this ship. When flanking Kingslayer, target its bridge, nestled at the bottom near its lower reactor. If this isn't feasible, or if you are in a gamemode where Kingslayer can keep fighting after it loses command points, fire diagonally through Kingslayer's missiles at its uppermost reactor. Firing diagonally through deals as much damage to the missiles and internals as possible and circumvents a large slab of armor immediately to the left of Kingslayer's reactor.

Trivia

This ship is a successor to Hentzau, with both ships sharing the same general shape, weapons, and paint.
