Phalanx II Medium Escort is a tier 4 patrol ship used by the Fringe Systems Resistance.
Tactics
In most regards very similar to its predecessor, the Phalanx Light Escort, this ship can be fought in roughly the same way. Its offense can be dangerous but is countered heavily by shields due to its lack of disruptors. It's fairly fragile, relying on the durability of its large cannons, and just like its predecessory, strafing can cut off part of its offense, making it easier to fight and potentially allowing a shot at its cockpit. Aside from size, the biggest difference between this ship and its smaller variant is the addition of some point defense - while it's side-mounted and fairly far down the Medium Escort's long body, it will counter attempts to use HE missiles against this ship.
Trivia
This ship is part of a series of three FSR ships, with its counterparts being the Phalanx Light Escort and the Phalanx III Heavy Escort.
